The Dorset Button Industry was started in the 17th Century. It was a cottage industry that provided employment for a large number of people around Dorset in the 17th and 18th centuries but gradually began to decline and now is preserved as a heritage craft. There are many types of Dorset Button - this workshop will focus on Dorset Cartwheels.
