Welcome to ZigZags! We hope to offer you a fabulous shopping experience and a warm welcome when you come to visit us in our shop in the lovely thriving market town of Newport in Shropshire. Newport is well worth visiting with a number of independent shops and plenty of delicious cafes for refreshments!
We stock a carefully selected selection of beautiful fabrics from popular brands, such as Moda, Lewis and Irene, Riley Blake, Robert Kaufman, Tilda, Makower, Dashwood Studios, Sevenberry and many others with over 300 bolts of cotton fabric to choose from - we have recently started stocking dressmaking fabrics as well with a small selection of cotton lawn, linen, corduroy and rayon at present, this sits alongside our 'Pattern Selection Area' where you can sit and browse the major dressmaking pattern catalogues and then order through us.
We aim to help and advise as much as possible, and love nothing more than sharing ideas, tips and techniques and celebrating our customers' achievements. If you visit us, do stop to admire the 'Make of the Month' board.
We also run a wide range of courses and workshops, aimed at all abilities, and hope to inspire our students to be creative with their new skills and have a sewing space that can be rented out by the half or full day.
We also stock a selection of yarn in the shop by manufacturers such as Stylecraft, Sirdar, DMC, West Yorkshire Spinners and Wendy. This includes cotton, double knit, chunky, super chunky, macrame yarn and patterns alongside a range of knitting and crochet essentials. We have recently introduced some more 'sustainable' ranges.
You will also find a full range of DMC stranded cotton in stock plus some Aida and other accessories. Alongside this you can browse patterns from designers including Janet Clare, Love from Beth and The Quilter's Trading Post or treat yourself to a bead embroidery or cross stitch kit from Ann's Orchard. We have an expanding range of haberdashery available and over 800 buttons to choose from.

Opening hours and parking
We are open from 9:30 am till 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday
There is parking on the street outside the shop, limited to a 40 minute stay. There are a number of free, unlimited carparks in Newport town centre within a 3 to 5 minute walk to the shop.
