We are thrilled to have textile artist Jane Fairweather coming to teach a workshop for us. Jane creates the most delightful, three-dimensional pieces of machine and hand embroidery. They are truly works of art. Her work has featured in magazines and has been exhibited by the Embroiderer's Guild at the National Trust's Berrington Hall to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Capability Brown

In this workshop, Jane will teach you how to create a three dimensional embroidered structure of an oak tree, using your sewing machine to 'draw in threads' on a dissolvable film, building up the stitches until they are inter-woven to form shapes. Your tree will stand in the tea cup, in a needle felted base and embellished with hand embroidered plants and flowers.

This workshop is suitable for people who have had a little bit of experience of free-motion embroidery, although you don't need to be an expert at it by any means!

The date is Saturday 1st October.

The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm.

Cost: £45
