We all love a gift tag as an addition to a present but instead of buying one or making one out of card or paper, why not make a fabric one instead? It can be made personalised for a specific recipient, which would add to the personal present , or made as a general one for any occasion. You can embroider the sentiment on the back, or leave it blank. Sandra and Katherine will show you how to make these lovely gift tags.
This class is suitable for all levels. Beginners are very welcome!
Please bring with you:
Calico or other cotton, not too thick, cut to around 12 inches by 4 and a half inches in size. The edges are not finished off on the tag, this adds to their overall charm, but, if you want to, you can cut the calico with pinking shears to give another effect.
Small pieces of cotton fabric, in colours and designs of your choice- small designs work best.
Some embellishments such as beads, sequins, buttons, ricrac, lace, leaves, flowers etc.
A selection of embroidery threads, Cotton Perle if possible but normal 6 strand embroidery threads are fine.
Thin ribbon for the tie bow at the top of the gift tag, around 15 inches in length for each gift tag.
Thin wadding, to go inside the tag to give it a bit of a layer
Basic sewing kit i.e needles, threads, scissors, pins etc
The date is: Wednesday 18th November
The workshop runs from 10am till 1pm
