Learn how to put together either a hexagonal or a square foundation piece of crazy patchwork ready to embellish to your heart’s content, with beads, ribbon, embroidery, sequins, buttons etc. Sandra and Katherine will take you step by step through the making of the piece and there should be time to start embellishing it. This could then form the basis of a central part of, for example, a book cover, cushion cover, or added to a bag front, or if you make similar pieces later, it could be turned into a wall hanging.
This class is suitable for all levels, beginners as well as those who would like to develop their work further.
Please bring along a selection of fabric pieces, various sizes, in colours of your choice, for the patchwork piecing. Please also bring a basic sewing kit, - scissors, needles, sewing thread of various colours as well as braid such as ric rac, lace etc, and some embellishments e.g. beads, buttons, sequins.
The foundation base, marked up with sewing lines, templates for cutting out the fabric and backing fabric, will all be supplied, at a charge of £2 per person. There will be additional supplies available if needed for a small donation.
The date is: Saturday 1st February
The workshop runs from 10am till 1pm
